About me

I am a Registered BACP Accredited counsellor in private practice, with over nineteen years experience.

I have worked in several agency settings, as a face-to-face counsellor, and by telephone, in Surrey and Oxfordshire.

In other roles, I was Head of Programme Management at Banbury Counselling Academy, a Coach in the University of Oxford’s Coaching Network, a Governor of Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (one of the leading providers of specialist mental health, drug and alcohol and learning disability services in southern England), a Solution-Focussed Brief Therapist for UnitedHealthcare, and a helper for several years at Guildford Contact Centre, for children with a non-resident parent.

I have taught interpersonal skills and counselling skills courses to adult learners at Newbury College and Guildford College, as well as being a Lead Tutor for Counselling Degree Courses for the University of Greenwich.

Before training professionally as a therapist, I worked as a researcher in the field of language and cognition, with a focus on dialogue.

I blog for the UK and Ireland Counsellor Directory.
