Counselling in Oxford

I am a Registered BACP Accredited counsellor in private practice, with over fifteen years experience as a counsellor.

I offer a service tailored to your specific needs, providing short or longer-term help as needed. My approach is rooted in kindly, non-judgemental, sensitive listening, and authentic relating.

We are all unique so although I am familiar with a range of approaches I prefer to draw on these flexibly – working with people in an interactive exploration that enables them to find their own individualised solutions.

I have worked in several agency settings, as a face-to-face counsellor, and by telephone, in Surrey and Oxfordshire, and before coming to Oxford was a Lead Tutor and Programme Leader for Counselling Degree Courses for the University of Greenwich.

In other roles, I was a Coach in the University of Oxford’s Coaching Network, a Governor of Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (one of the leading providers of specialist mental health, drug and alcohol and learning disability services in southern England), a helper for several years at Guildford Contact Centre, for children with a non-resident parent, and have taught interpersonal skills and counselling skills courses to adult learners at Newbury College and Guildford College.

Before training professionally as a therapist, I worked as a researcher in the field of language and cognition, with a focus on dialogue. I also provide coaching.
